Quifel Holdings has entered in the agricultural sector, through various investments in Farms and Homesteads, specifically with wine, olive-oil, cork and cattle, amongst others.

Companhia das Quintas was created in 1991 and Miguel Pais do Amaral is its leading shareholder. Companhia das Quintas is a holding exclusively dedicated to the production of wine, liquor and other distilled beverages. It invests in 6 Farms and 6 Wineries in the most representative Wine regions of Portugal:





Quinta da Cova da Barca
This Farm is located under the protection of the mountains of the North Douro Valley, a region known for its cold winter and its hot and dry summer. With potential for more than 30 Ha, it has a total planted area of 16 Ha. The farm produces the traditional vine varieties of Douro Valley, namely Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa and Tinta Roriz.

Quinta da Fronteira
Next to Quinta da Cova da Barca, in the south bank of the Douro River, it has a total vineyard area of 54 Ha. The dominant vine varieties are also Touriga Nacional, Touriga Francesa and Tinta Roriz

Quinta do Cardo
Located in Beira Interior (Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo), this farm has a total area of 169 Ha, of which 80 Ha are filled with vineyards and a wide area is a cork trees spot. Its main red varieties are Touriga Nacional and Touriga Francesa; it also has the Síria White variety.

Quinta de Pancas
It is placed in Alenquer – Ribatejo. This Farm benefits from the micro-climate of the east facing slopes, with a perfect climate for the ripening of its noble vine varieties, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Touriga Nacional and Aragonez. Its main white varieties are the Chardonnay and Arinto. The total vineyard area is 50 Ha.

Quinta da Romeira
Located in Bucelas, it has a total vineyard area of 80 Ha with a wine centre equipped with the latest generation technology. Its dominant vine variety is Arinto.

Herdade da Farizoa
Placed in Borba – Alentejo, it has a total area of 60 Ha, planted in 2001, and has a fully automated wine centre with the latest generation technology. Its main vine varieties are Trincadeira, Alfrocheiro, Aragonez and Touriga Nacional.

Large investments have been made in these properties, both in the Vine and Winery sectors. Companhia das Quintas also has a distribution company called Portuvinus Wine & Spirits.
